Hi guys. Today my dance crew and I went further and memorized the beat drop. Basically the full chorus. But only few of us came so I think we need to get a certain time. I think it is more cool if we do it ourselves than asking a professional to memorize it and teach us because for me it helps me to understand what is wrong and I know how to fix it because I know it.
Today I discovered that lots of people in this school will not understand the song so I discussed with my crew and we got an idea for a song that lots international people can understand. The song is a secret. I got surprised when we got this far into the song and we know this much. I thought we barely even made it over a minute but we got it 'till over 2 minutes. This time we did good on getting the place because we found enough space in the classroom and we have been dancing for quite a while now. We turned it into a Willy Wonka's private dance studio but it is just that it is public. Now I want to see how all the TEACHERS will react to our song.

The past couple of practices we made lots of progress but Jelle my friend only showed up to 1. So me and the rest of the groups taught him the parts that he had to dance. It was a short period of time and we had a limited time of supervision but we got time to practice after we taught him.
I was really surprised when Jelle actually did well after I taught him the moves. I think he kinda did better than the other few people. I discovered that Jelle was a more of a fast learner compared to the other people who need more time. While I was dancing as well, I also worked on my art piece as well. I experimented a new material I could use for my artwork. So I needed something that could hold something up, something like a string. So I found something called a fish line. It is a invisible plastic-ish string. It helped me to hold the ideas and actions I could of done for my project. I think I did well on balancing my time for both of my passions but I still need to work on preparing. I needed to ask for supervision but we barely found a person to supervise us. So next time I will have to get in contact with the people I can get supervision from. I am so happy because I memorized a new song called DNA from BTS. It is for the talent show even though it is 2 months later. It is also really exciting because I am doing it with my friends Ethan, Teodor, Nathan, Jelle, Edouard and Andy...and me.
I think it was really successful even though we just randomly started doing backflips. Well only Teodor and Edouard did it correctly. We also took pictures of there picks and that was how far off topic we went but we memorized more than last time we met. I discovered that it is more hard to memorize than making your dance yourself. Well sometimes. Working with friends also made it more fun because you laugh and make it more fun than when you do it yourself and you just concentrate and don't find it fun. I think we just need to be more prepared about the place we will practice because sometimes we need more time and maybe stay in for either break or lunch. But we did good at making progress for our thing. Now I want to try to make it more advanced, after we kind of master it. What is up guys! I am really excited because my new unit started today. if you didn't check out my reflection/EOL about my past project, go check it out, it has lots of information about my past project and the introduction to my new project. I kinda started a whole new project because I am doing two things at the same time. I am now doing art while I am dancing in my project. It is going to be hard to handle more than one thing.
I started to do art because I love doing art but I want to challenge myself to do better. I am not really good at drawing and painting. Ok, I will be honest, I can't even draw a human correctly unless it is a stickman. If you want to see a picture of a hand that I drew, I will show you at 'YOUR PAGE'. Art is really easy to express your feeling but dancing is not as much so I wanted to combine both to make something new. I know dancing is cool and awesome but I wanted to try something new as well. I think I am different than most of the other people because if you don't know, I am a boy and most boys don't like to dance and draw and all of those stuff but I know some people like to do what I do. I felt kind of stressed after I felt that differentness but I think that was the reason why my goal was to inspire people that it is Ok to be different. I just want to tell you that following your passion is not an easy thing to do. It is not just a "Yes. I started and now I am never going to fail." thing. For me it was literally an up then down then a bit up then flat. So this time I want to make it like a wave on the ocean. Today was actually an ok day. I saw my fellow student Edouard's comedy routine. Go check him out, he is great. I also started my EOL and the link is underneath. Also my field trip is coming up, it is a field trip to my dance studio. I will explain it at my home page. I still have to talk to a lot of people. Such as the teachers that can help me and people who can help me organize the field trip.(Dance teacher, Mr. Peterson[Primary principal])
I discovered that it is really hard to actually organize a field trip because you have to contact and talk to lots of people. We also have to pay an amount of money to do it and more things. I got really surprised when the grade 4 teachers actually got the form. But the really surprising thing was that more grade 4 students signed up than the people from studio 5. I did well on contacting and receiving e-mail from teachers but I think I have to make lots of things such as confirmation slips. I have to get more things made now than receiving things. Now because there is only 2 weeks 'till the field trip, I have to hurry up. Don't judge me that it is taking long. I am a 5th grader/Studio 5 learner. Today: Monday p3 And I am back from Bangkok TOM competition! It is like a thing where they give you a problem and you have to fix it in a creative and funny way with a group of around 6 people. Well I that is not what I wanted to tell you.(Off track) I actually wanted to tell you this-TOM blog at home page-, so today I taught a few fellow students how to break dance. All the choreography that I had gathered is now finally worth it!
I was trying to teach them in sequence but we kind of got loose and off track so I had to teach them all the fun stuff which is supposed to be at the end. I discovered one really big lesson from that session. So the one really big lesson from that is to never ever put the boring things at the start. I mean it and trust me, you'll rage quit and explode with anger even if you try to not. The rage will hit your top in about a nano second and yeah. But I did get surprised that even if you turn into a shook coke bottle, after you will chill and cool down again in a nano second. You won't even have time to get mad at them. Like I described it, your rage's function is really similar to a shook coke bottle. You open the coke bottle and the coke get's out in a quick zap. That is when you hit your rage max. Then the coke will clear off again in a zap. Which is when you chill. I was good at teaching them on my opinion of how people should teach. I think that if you mastered it, you can teach others as well so if there is a guy who keeps up and there is a guy guy that is stuck, the guy who is keeping up can help the guy who is stuck.(#Way of life) I still think I can do better in teaching them in sequence as I said. I was confused why we got off sequence and I found out the answer. I will repeat it now again, IT WAS BORING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The whole first part is a slow and dramatic opening and guess what,(No offense) they thought it was not a good idea even though I practiced and memorized and struggled and edited which all came to one answer; I don't even need to say it. Normally when I post these kind of reflections I go crazy and pull up^ with different jokes but I think I need to be formal with this one.(That was basically the intro)
Today I edited my performance video if you want to see it, there will be a link underneath.(The performance at celebration of cultures.(Blog at home page) Lets Start! First question: What was I trying to do? Well I did want to finish my performance video which I did finish. I also wanted to practice a few of my break downs for my choreography dance project but I couldn't because of the time. I will try to work on it at home. Second question: What did I discover and what did I do well and what could I improve? I did find out editing is really hard and I did need a lot of help from Teo in Final Cut Pro. I did find out that I am not really good at uploading and sharing videos in Final Cut Pro. I think it it is cool that I learned really fast on working on Final Cut Pro. Third question: What surprised me and what could I do next to improve? I got surprised by different volume changes in my video. If you see it, it is quite quiet at the beginning then if you hear the music your ear drums might pop! (I am not joking) Also because of the errors of the cast/credits, I think I need the cast/credits. I am so proud of this video.(Intro finished)
JK. I am really proud of this video for 2 reasons. 1, it took me a real long time to edit this video just because of the title screens. C, this was my first tutorial that was advanced. I think it is lit, go check it out above this text box. First question: What was I trying to do? I wanted to teach other people some advance moves in break dance footwork category because it is really hard to do it. I think other people should deserve to know how to do it. Second question: What did I discover? I discovered that I am do need to practice a bit more on the move before I am ready. Third question: What surprised me? I got really surprised when I saw the whole thing and all the title screens fit together automatically. It was just a whole bunch of words mushed together like a frame with the same drawing in holding the frame.(Optical illusions) Fourth question: What did I do well and what can I improve? I think I liked it when I was asking them if you catch up because I think I did do it their level. I think I was good at being open-minded to them and to wait for them. I think I still do have to like make it easier for them to see because I was quite far away from the camera. I am really excited for next week because I will put my first choreography break down into YouTube! At the same time I am also nervous so I will try to memorize the part more and I think I can try to replace a move that I am not familiar with a move that I am familiar with. Also I will book my workshop space so I will be prepared.
First question: What am I going to do? I think I need to book my space fast so I can use that space. I don't want my space to get stolen before anybody else so I will try my best. Second question: What will I need to discover? I do need to find out what time everybody is available. I need to talk to teachers and other students in different classes to make this workshop possible. Third question: What will surprise me? I think if the other kids nail this dance, I think I will be shocked because I thought of really hard moves for this choreography. I also chose some moves from a few songs that have really hard choreography. Fourth question: What will I be good at? I think because I am a more of a "understand-this-before-you-go" person so they won't just go without learning anything. I also want them to have fun so I think I could make the class fun. Fifth question: What will I need to improve? I think I have to improve more on teaching people. The last time I led my own workshop, everybody went wild and I didn't know how to calm them down. So this time I am bringing something that could project my voice. Hi guys, My name is Hwan and I was doing this project for 6 weeks. My project is dancing and I hope I also inspire you to try dancing. It is really fun to dance, well especially for me. Dancing can express your feelings better than words in my opinion.
Well, when I first started this project I hoped I could compare when I first started and when I actually got to master it. But because I couldn’t completely master it and I didn’t think I changed a lot so I couldn’t do that. But I did have a purpose to achieve that goal because I wanted to see my growth. Well my purpose of this project was because I am really passionate on dancing and before that I had workshop about it so I felt confident so I chose dancing for my project. Also during this project, I learned to actually be more independent. During all of this time I always kind of didn’t know what exactly to do but I learned even if an adult isn’t there, I can move on forward. I used HWEO and HWOO (How We Express Ourselves and How We Organize Ourselves)unit the most. When I dance I feel like I am speaking to someone else about myself so that’s why I chose How We Express Ourselves and when I went to the part when I start editing, I think video looks better when I edit it and organize it more. Different skills such as observing and time management skills. Those skills helped me keep going on every week and I ended up right here right now. Time management helped me organize my videos and observe and memorize different moves on time. I learned different skills and tried different categories in dancing. I don’t think I would say learn, I think experiment would fit it more for tring categories. When I first experimented memorizing and dancing new fast songs, it was really fun so I think I learned lots about how people use memorizing skills in different ways. I could of done better in different categories than memorizing such as teaching. I did teach a lot of people different things but never online so it was kind of boring even when I looked at it. Well, enough with experimenting things and skills. Math was a useful subject in this project. I used measurement and data handling the most during this project. Measurement was helping me to get the time of the video the right amount so people don’t get bored. I also memorized lots so I had to organize it so data handling helped a lot there. After math, there is also literacy. Presenting, viewing and speaking helped me the most out of all the literacy skills. When I make a tutorial I normally speak a lot so I think speaking and presenting is really useful. Also when I edit lots of my videos, I need to view the video to see what I need to improve. I did a reflection every first and last day of the week so I think I did quite well. I didn’t document lots of things in the middle of the week so I think I could of worked on that. I think a computer was the most useful for reflecting and for different things. I think I could of used it more to edit my videos better and I didn’t think I needed an expert but I actually needed one. But the good thing is that I think I am an expert too and I learned that motivation helped me push more forward to success. For example if success was on top of the stairway, motivation would be the stairway guiding the path to success. Motivation led me to success so that is why I put it that way. Motivation kept me to be more persevere to finish my goal if I had a chance to do it. It is because I don’t think I can find a passion that I am good at and wanting to do it everyday than dancing. When I first started dancing it basically carved into me so I don’t want to give up on it. |
